INSPIRED BY: BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY (OR COCKTAILS IN THIS CASE)3:46 pm
Hi everyone! Remember when I said a lot of exciting things were happening for the blog? Well last night was one of them! The hubs and I were invited to attend the opening of the new Tiffany store in West Edmonton Mall!
**Disclaimer - a lot of people tell me one of things they enjoy about the blog is that there isn't a ton of reading involved. This is a LONG post for me, so feel free to skip ahead and just check out the photos if you want!**
Tiffany has long held a special place in my heart as the hubs proposed with a Tiffany ring, so what was already an honor was that much more special for me! This was also the first store opening I have ever been invited to so needless to say I was shaking in my lace up shoe-booties!
The store itself was soooooo beautiful! The decor a bit of a departure from Tiffany stores I have visited in the past. It is light and bright and every touch has meaning. For example it was pointed out to me that even the carpet, which appears to be a basic repetitive design at first glance, is actually made up of dragonflies which hold significance for Tiffany and Co.
While strolling through the store sipping champagne (or 3 glasses of wine for the hubs! I think I married a lush) and nibbling on delicious hors d'oeuvres, I stopped to try on various pieces, and met Megan Larson who just started working at the new location. Megan took the time to chat with me about Tiffany as a company and the jewelry. She explained about the heritage of the company and especially about the Elsa Peretti line which is one of my favorite Tiffany lines. If I didn't know any better I would have sworn that Megan had been with the company for years, a testament to her training as well as her natural and easy going personality. The thing I have always loved about dealing with Tiffany is that, no matter who you are, they are always extremely welcoming and as excited for you to receive a Tiffany piece as you are! The service is really second to none and this experience was no different. Megan went through a number of pieces with me and spent an enormous amount of time with the hubs and I getting to know us, and to determine that perfect piece for me to take home! We had huge success (and by "we" I mean Megan and me)!
Honestly the invitation to this opening was a dream come true for me, and I am still in awe that I was actually on the list when I got to the door! I started the blog for myself because I felt like I had fallen into a bit of a rut. I had no expectations of it ever going anywhere! The fact that people read it was and is still surprising to me. I cannot thank you all enough for your support! Before I got the invitation to this event I was actually scheduled to work and when my coworkers found out they showed me such amazing support and I was able to cover my shift. I can't thank you enough Coachies! Last but not least, a huge thank you of course goes out to Tiffany and Co. for having me, Sarah of Sass Communications for the invitation to this amazing night, and of course Megan for helping me find my new bling (to be featured in an upcoming post)!
