Hi everyone!  The hubs and I are back from Vancouver and missing it already!  A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was planning a post about packing for my NYC trip so here goes!

Packing for the trip was a challenge in a lot of ways!  1. I was travelling by myself to meet up with the hubs who had left ahead of me, and since I was only going to be taking carry on, my case had to light enough for me to handle on my own.  Plus I planned to do some shopping there so I needed enough space leftover to bring the same single carry on bag back with my new finds. 2. Spring weather can if be iffy.  I needed to bring enough layers to keep warm, including at least a sweater or two which can be bulky, and that I could mix and match easily.  3. Shoes!  I always find this a tricky part of packing because they tend to take up quite a bit of room in your case, and need to be both fashionable and functional enough to be comfortable for the excessive walking we would be doing. I decided to limit myself to two shoes. 4. I needed to choose a coat that was warm enough for the weather, light enough that it wasn't a burden to carry around if things warmed up, functional enough to keep me dry in rain, and dressy yet casual enough to be worn during the day and for going out in the evening.  A pretty tall order!

I ended up packing a lot of layering pieces, basic colors (white, grey, black, denim), a few printed items and accessories for fun and a pop of color, flat boots for walking (that I wore on the plane), heeled boots for going out, and a wool coat to pull double duty for dressy and casual needs, AND by the time I was done only half my case was full so I could fill the rest with my new shopping finds!  Like my new Reed Krakoff Uniform Satchel that I picked up during our trip!  I love my new baby!

Thanks for reading and have a great week!  Also remember that there is still some time left to enter my Lucid Lifestyle giveaway with Juicy Green Mom!  See looks one and two and enter to win!
