CASUAL OFFICE - WHITE COLLAR AND POP OF BLUE9:00 am
Hi all! It's been a bit crazy busy here lately. After just over a decade with my company I decided that a change was in order and made the leap to a new job! My last day with my old company was Friday of last week, so it's been a bit of a whirlwind finishing things up in my old position and starting in my new one.
I will continue to work from home so still no need to get dressed for work in the morning, but office dressing is one of the things I miss most about actually going into an office five days a week. There is just something about getting dressed for work that I really love. Maybe because it's one of the few things that requires us to look presentable on a regular basis anymore. In years past, before sweatpants and pajama bottoms (the latter of which is still not ok in my opinion) became acceptable to wear in public, people 'dressed' on a daily basis. To some this seems tedious but I love the idea of taking time and care for your appearance. Maybe not everyday but five days a week I can do.
As soon as I saw this blue Zara dress, I fell in love! It helped that it happened to be on sale for $25! It strikes the perfect balance of formal and casual for my life. The take on a work inspired layered collared shirt look converted into a boxy dress is perfection! The collar adding a formal element which is balanced by the loose boxy shape. I paired it with studded platform sneakers as a nod to my informal "office" setting and paired those which a matching purse to evoke memories of times gone by when women's accessories coordinated. I kind of love the result!
Thanks so much for reading! I have a couple things in the works for next week's post so stayed tuned! Have a great weekend!
