TRAVEL DIARY - ICELAND

10:29 pm

Hallo!!!! Or Hello in Icelandic! If you follow me on snapchat or instagram (if you don't please do!) you'll already know that early in the summer I went on my first real vacation in a LONG time to Iceland and I have to say that it was amazing!  We were only there for 6 days total but we definitely jam packed those days full of adventure!

One thing that I didn't realize when we were planning our "summer" vacation, is that summer in Iceland is more like Spring!  The temperature hovered around 15 degrees and ranged from sunny to rain to a mix of both. Which meant that layers were the way to -go!  One of the best pieces I brought with me was this Banana Republic vest.  It was the perfect layering piece.  Combined with my leather jacket it kept me dry in the rain or at the multiple water falls we visited and with a sweater it kept me warm but stylish while walking around Reykjavik.  So my number one tip if you are packing for trip to Iceland is layer, layer, layer!

One thing I have say is that the Icelandic landscape is stunning!  Home to several volcanoes, it's a mixture of everything from bright green rolling hills to alien rocky black lava fields covered in moss to ocean views.  It really has it all.

One of my favorite places that we visited throughout our whole trip has to be the Blue Lagoon. The ice blue milky geothermal seawater is stunning and you can literally spend hours lounging in the waters and slathering yourself in silicon masks.

Other highlights from the trip include the black pebble beach, the Golden Circle especially the Strokkur Geysir, and the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre.  We also enjoyed some really amazing meals in Iceland and one thing that really struck throughout the trip is that children were welcome and accommodated everywhere we went from gift shop cafeterias to fine dining restaurants which was so refreshing and just made our trip so much easier.

If you are interested in visiting Iceland I would HIGHLY recommend it!  Here are some photos from the trip!

Thanks so much for reading everyone!
